‘Golden Hour | Bolton Photographer’

With all the gorgeous sunshine and extra time for walks during lockdown, myself and my hubby have been on some pretty beautiful walks. We don't live in the countryside, but we have discovered during this time, that we do in fact live a 5 minute walk from some beautiful countryside.

We have walked across this field a dozen times over the past few weeks, which ever route we took, we always seemed to end up on the same field.

I had taken my compact Sony camera out with me one night and I was so glad. The colours, the grasses and the sunset were just all too perfect. I said to Rhys, I need to bring a family into this field. The only problem being, 'Golden Hour' is between 8-9pm. I decided it was going to be near impossible to have children up and about (and on form for performing) this late.

I have photographed and worked with this family a few times and they fit the bill perfectly. I'm sure you will agree that each one of them is not only incredibly gorgeous but very photogenic.

Their mama had asked me a few weeks back if I could think of anywhere local to us for an outdoor shoot. One evening after my walk, I sent her some images I had taken in this field. I had worked out the easiest route to trek 4 tired children to this idilic location, and guess what, she went for it!!! With the children being young, 50% of them not in school and being in lock down, one late night couldn't hurt. Although I did think she was a little crazy!

I have only had the privilege of meeting the four of them a couple of times, but in that time I have managed to get a pretty good idea of their personalities. I'll introduce you to the four of them:

Gracie, aged 8. Beautiful, caring, an amazing helper and completely at ease in front of the camera. She is incredible with her siblings for such a tender age.

Isla, aged 4. I have seen two sides to Isla. The first time she came to the studio she was quiet and shy, but this time, she absolutely smashed it. Full of personality and up for anything.

Oscar, aged 2. Again, Oscar has changed so much each time I have photographed him. In his studio shoot he was cheeky and smiley. But a little older and wiser this time (and possibly ready for bed), he's become a total mummies boy. He's utterly scrumptious so I will let him off but not wanting to take part.

Hettie, 2 months old. Ohhhh Hettie!!! This was the first time I have met Hettie. She was booked in for her Newborn Session but unable to attend due to the pandemic. I can't wait for cuddles because she is just adorable.

I'll leave it at that and let the images tell you the rest...
